Am I able to turn up at the hotel without having made a booking?
Yes, if there is availability then we can accommodate you.

Do you offer discounts for group bookings?
Yes, please get in touch for further details.

How can I amend my booking?
Bookings made directly with us – please call us on 01202 298020 to amend your booking.

Bookings made on third party websites – you might be able to amend online or you may need to call them.

What is your cancellation policy?
Bookings made directly with us can be cancelled within 24 hours.

Bookings made on third party website is usually 48 hours, but this may vary.

Bookings made with special offers may also vary.

How can I cancel my booking?
Bookings made directly with us – please call us on 01202 298020 to cancel your booking.

Bookings made on third party websites – please contact the company that you booked with.

Is breakfast included in the price of my room?
Yes, in some cases. Usually though, you’ll need to book a bed & breakfast rate.

Am I able to request an invoice for my stay?
Yes

What happens if I’m running late on the day of my arrival?
Our reception is open 24 hours so this is no problem if you’re running late.

Is the price per person or per room?
Our prices are always per room.

Can I pay with cash?
Rooms have to be paid for by debit/credit card. Cash can be used for other services throughout the hotel (restaurant, bar, spa etc).

In response to Covid-19, we’re currently only accepting debit and credit card payments at this time to avoid the handling of cash, this includes service at the restaurant and bar.

What credit cards do you accept?
Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, Solo and Amex.

Can I book a room for day use?
No

Do you offer express check-in/checkout?
Yes

What time is check-in / check-out?
Check-in is from 3pm and checkout is at 11am.

Do you offer an early check-in / late check-out?
It’s possible to check in early if your room is ready. Feel free to ask us on the day.
We offer late checkout at 12pm for an additional charge.

Our hotel

Is the hotel pet-friendly?
The Connaught Hotel and Spa is not pet-friendly. Only guide dogs are allowed on the premises.

Do you have WI-FI throughout the hotel?
Yes, we provide FREE high speed WI-FI for all of our guests.

Does the hotel have a lift?
Yes

Do you provide daily newspapers?
Yes, for an additional charge.

What languages are spoken by the staff?
English, Spanish, French, Hungarian, Latvian, Polish, Portuguese and Romanian.

Are children welcome at the hotel?
Yes. We have two family rooms in The Connaught Lodge.

Can I start a tab for all my expenditure at the hotel, then pay off when I check-out?
Yes

Do you have anywhere to store bicycles?
Yes

What is the Connaught Lodge? How is this different from the hotel?
The Connaught Lodge is a separate building next door to the main hotel. The accommodation is very similar to the hotel, and it’s ideal if you’d prefer to be away from the main goings-on. You’ll still be able to enjoy FREE access to all the hotel’s facilities.

Do you provide electric vehicle charging stations?
Yes, we have one electric charging point which can be used for £10.

We have 66 car parking spaces.

Restaurant & Bar

Do you have high chairs in the restaurant?
Yes

What kind of breakfast is served?
Breakfast options include full English/Irish, vegetarian and vegan.

Is the restaurant open to non-hotel guests?
Yes

What time is breakfast/lunch/dinner served?
Breakfast is served from 6.30am-9.30am Monday-Friday and 7am-10am Saturday and Sunday.

Lunch is served every day from 12pm-2.30pm.

Dinner is served every day from 5.30pm-9.30pm, but food is available 24 hours from an afternoon menu, sandwiches and hot items from 9am onwards.

Afternoon tea is served daily from 12pm-5pm.

Do I have to book a table or can I just turn up?
You can just turn up but we’d always recommend booking a table in The Connaught Brasserie and The Connaught Gin Bar in advance to guarantee availability. This can be booked online or call us on 01202 298020.

Is the restaurant available to hire for private parties?
Yes, we can accommodate up to 120 guests for private dining.

What are the opening times of the gin bar?
The Connaught Gin Bar is open to the general public from 11am-11pm and for hotel guests it’s open 24 hours. Please note that opening times may differ while there are Covid-19 restrictions in place.

Are you allowed to smoke in the bedrooms?
All communal areas and bedrooms within The Connaught Hotel and Spa are non-smoking.

Can I invite guests to my room?
No

Do you offer a laundry service?
Yes, for an additional charge

Do your rooms have kettles/hair dryers/irons/a trouser press?
All of our bedrooms have kettles and hair dryers. Irons and ironing boards are available but need to be requested.

We don’t have any trouser presses.

Do your rooms have fridges?
Our Orchid Suite, Tulip Suite and Rose Suite all have fridges. Some of our Executive Rooms also have a fridge.

Do you have mini-bars in the rooms?
No

Do the rooms have a safe?
Yes, all of our bedrooms have a digital safe where the guest chooses the PIN.

Do you provide a housekeeping service?
Yes

Do the bedrooms have air conditioning?
Our Orchid Suite and our Balcony Rooms all have air conditioning.

Is room service available?
Yes, at an additional cost.

Are cots available for babies/small children?
Yes, we can provide cots and cot sheets.

Can we request an extra bed in our room for a child?
Unfortunately this isn’t possible.

Do the rooms have double beds or single beds pushed together?
We have a mixture of double beds and single beds that can be pushed together or kept apart.

What are the maximum number of guests allowed in each room type?
Our Classic rooms accommodate two guests.

Our family rooms are for up to four guests.

We have five single bedrooms for one guest.

Do all rooms have en-suite bathrooms?
Yes

Can I request rooms next to each other?
Yes, you can request this in advance and we’ll always try to accommodate this.

Do you have family rooms available?
Yes, we have two family rooms in The Connaught Lodge which can accommodate a family of four.

Do you have any inter-connecting bedrooms?
No

Do all rooms have a shower/bath?
Yes, all bedrooms have either a shower or a bath.

Accessibility

Do you have accessible bedrooms?

Do you have a lift?
The Connaught Hotel and Spa does have a lift but unfortunately this doesn’t go right up to the top floor, you need to take steps to get to the top.

Do you have disabled parking?
Yes, we have three disabled parking spaces.

Is your hotel wheelchair-friendly?
Yes, our ground floor is very wheelchair-friendly. We have a disabled toilet on the ground floor.

How does your hotel cater for guests with different needs?
The Connaught Hotel and Spa is wheelchair-friendly, and our disabled bathrooms all have an emergency cord, a low sink, higher level toilet and grab rails.
