Our hotel and spa are temporarily closed, but we’ll be open again on 5th March, depending on government guidelines at the time.
Named after its magnificent azure blue swimming pool, Bluewater Spa is the perfect place to escape life’s stresses and unwind with a luxurious spa treatment. A mobile-free zone, our Bournemouth spa is designed with relaxation in mind, and that’s exactly how you’ll feel following a visit.
The spa facilities include an 18m indoor swimming pool, four spa treatment rooms, steam room and sauna, fully equipped gym and a relaxation lounge.
As well as being FREE for all hotel guests during their stay, our spa hotel also offers a spa and gym membership for local residents. The Connaught Hotel and Spa is just a five minute walk from Bournemouth town centre and a few minutes from the beach.
Bluewater Spa is temporarily closed, but we’ll be open again on 5th March.
Please accept our sincere apologies for this, but we hope that you understand that these are very unusual circumstances and we will reopen as soon as we are able to.
If you’re a member of our Bluewater Spa, please don’t worry about your membership fees or direct debits – all fees will automatically be frozen for the time that we’re closed.
When you stay with us you can book a one hour time slot to use the swimming pool 48 hours in advance, or you can check late availability with the spa team on the day. A maximum of 12 people will be allowed in the swimming pool at any given time, and there will be no access to the pool without a booking.
A maximum of two people are allowed in the jacuzzi at any one time. This will be included in the booking for the pool. The sauna and steam room will remain closed until further restrictions are lifted by the government.
We’re now taking bookings for all spa treatments on the days that the hotel is open.
Our gym is able to accommodate four people at a time. Priority will be given to Bluewater Spa members, but hotel guests will be able to use the gym if there is availability on the day.
To use the gym you will need to book a one hour slot with reception 48 hours before your visit, or you can check late availability with the spa team on the day.
Bookings will be essential to use the swimming pool from 8am-8pm, however, every day from 7am-8am we have a members-only hour with no booking required. This will be available on a first come first served basis.
Spa days and spa breaks are available again on the days that we’re open, but while there are Covid-19 restrictions in place you’ll only be able to use the pool and spa facilities for one hour each day during your visit. Priority for our gym is given to our spa members, but you will be able to use the gym if there is availability on the day.
What are the opening times of the spa/gym/pool?
Due to Covid-19 we’ve temporarily amended our opening times. Our spa is open every day from 7am-8pm. Our gym is open every day from 8am-8pm. Spa treatments are available every day from 10am-6pm.
Are non-hotel guests able to use the gym/pool?
You can become a member or pay for a day pass, charged at £30 per day for full use of the spa facilities. Or if you’re visiting for a treatment then a day pass for the facilities will cost £10.
Please note – day passes aren’t currently available while there are Covid-19 restrictions in place as we need to limit the number of guests in our spa. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Children are welcome to use our spa facilities, but must be accompanied by an adult.
What is the depth of the swimming pool?

Is Bluewater Spa accessible for disabled visitors?
We do have a lift to take you down to the spa, but unfortunately the spa area isn’t suitable for wheelchairs.
Am I able to exclusively hire out the pool for an event?
Unfortunately this isn’t something that we’re able to accommodate as we give our Bluewater Spa members access to the pool during all opening hours.
When should I arrive for my spa treatment?
We recommend arriving 15 minutes before your treatment, so that you can relax and fill out your consultation card. We’d hate to rush you! Late arrival will result in your treatment time being reduced.
What should I wear during my treatment?
We recommend wearing swimwear to your spa treatment.
Is the gym air-conditioned?
Yes
Do I need to bring my own towels to the swimming pool/gym?
If you are a guest, we will provide a towel. Bluewater Spa members should bring their own towels.
Do you offer a joint membership deal for couples/groups?
Yes, see our spa and gym membership packages and prices.
Do you offer an off-peak membership package?
Yes, see our spa and gym membership packages and prices.
If I have a voucher for the spa, can I just turn up or should I book first?
You’ll need to book first, please get in touch via our online enquiry form or by calling Bluewater Spa on 01202 209104.
Can I get membership just for the gym (excluding the spa)?
Unfortunately this isn’t possible, all of our membership packages are for both the spa and gym.
Do I have to book a day pass in advance or can I just turn up?
A day pass can be booked on the day. We recommend calling us before travelling on 01202 209104 to check whether we have capacity to fit you in that day.
Are there lockers available in your spa/gym?
Yes, we have plenty of lockers (you will need a pound coin for these, which gets returned).
Are you able to arrange a bottle of wine / prosecco / champagne for us to drink in the spa?
Unfortunately this isn’t possible as we don’t allow any glass within the spa area.
What age do you need to be for a spa treatment?
Guests must be aged 18 and over to join us for one of our spa treatments.
When can I visit you to view the facilities?
Please feel free to pop in any day between 9:30am and 6:30pm and we can show you around.

Lovely hotel, nice room well decorated and clean. Really friendly helpful staff. close to the beach. good quality breakfast and lots of options. Lovely spa. Ideal for couples. Will definitely return for another visit.
Fabulous
One night stop over at the Connaught Hotel and we had a great stop over from the moment we arrived to leaving. Facilities were excellent and the room was clean and tidy plus all staff helpful. I used the gym and the pool on both days and will definitely come back again when in Bournemouth.
Connaught hotel visit
Great staff, great service. A relaxing 2.5 day mid-week break with a baby. Huge full English breakfast, pleasant bar and places to relax. Spa massage very good. Superior room just big enough with baby (cot provided). Weather very hot and no a/con upstairs in larger rooms, but windows open all night and still quiet. Easy 7 min stroll with pushchair to cliff-top lift down to promenade. Bournemouth was a surprisingly good short-break with a great atmosphere.
Excellent Service and most relaxing
